Ganesh chaturthi falls on Friday, i;e 29th of August, 2014.
Every year there is a minor disagreement in the family, wherein I say that we should buy plain clay idol or just perform a puja on any one of the large Ganesh idol collection I have at home. Others are divided where one says a colourful one is acceptable, a papier mache says the other and one wants to make an idol on their own.
However, we always settle down for an eco-friendly one and the visarjan is usually done at home only and the contents are then dumped onto the potted plants. The paints create havoc on water bodies and other aquatic lives. Hence one must opt for the eco-friendly Ganesh, which is the one and only better option. Lots of varieties are available in the market. So, kindly choose the better option, I know you would.
