Formal & Informal Speech & its usage in writing! :-))

Formal speech / writing is something that we use during official or business meetings. In short it is how we talk to strangers.

Informal speech / writing is what we use with close friend or family members, especially a loved one.

Following are some examples of formal and informal speech expressions.

Informal:                                     Formal

Dearies, if you want to know how formal language is, try reading an official letter. It could be about your parent's insurance correspondence, their official letters (just a peek-a-boo, not the whole letter), the school's circular to parents or a marriage card.

Everyone's Friend,
Lakshmi. :-))
