Q.1.  How did the stranger convince the people that they had enemies which they didn't know?

Ans:  The stranger told the people that there were all kinds of enemies and that even as they spoke there were enemies preparing themselves to defeat the people of the city.

Q.2.  How did the city change as a result? What methods were employed to overcome the enemies?

Ans:  The city had to change in order to face an enemy's attack. The city walls were made taller and stuck with crushed glass. Traffic signals, mailboxes and trees were enclosed in barbed wire and sandbags piled at street corners for the security men to hide behind. Every house and building had a spy hole and in schools and colleges, literature and science were replaced by the art of spying and the only animals left in the city were Rottweilers.

Q.3. Based on Motubhai's prediction, how did Birbal use his wittiness to help the city?

Ans:  Birbal used Motubhai's prediction and the with the help of four children, played a trick forcing everybody who heard the children laughing from within the hollow banyan tree to laugh uncontrollably . All the fun and laughter left the Mayor with no option but to leave the city with the fear of death.
